  • Bridge Crew (Primary Manifest)

Responsible for the navigation and flight control, tactical, and operations of a vessel, the Bridge crew consist of Commissioned officers only, one for each of the duty shifts. Seniority is based on Alpha, Beta, Gamma...in that order. Though certain missions and events can change an officer's shift assignment, this does not rotate the seniority.

The Alpha shift Tactical officer is the senior tactical officer under the Chief of Security and Tactical, on duty there when neither the Chief nor Assistant Chief are able.

Responsible for the navigation and flight control of a vessel and its auxiliary craft, the Flight Control department includes pilots trained in both starship and auxiliary craft piloting. There are no fighter pilots on the Armstrong.
Tactical officers are responsible for the readiness of the ship's external defenses (phasers, torpedo bays, shielding, armor...) and deployment of same when the need arises.

The operations department is responsible for keeping ship systems functioning properly, rerouting power, bypassing relays, and doing whatever else is necessary to keep the ship operating at peak efficiency.

  • SCE Specialist Team (Primary Manifest)

The S.C.E. Specialist are a crack team composed of specialists in such diverse fields as tactical systems, alien cultures, computers, linguistics, and cryptography. Together they're ready to cope with just about every kind of high-tech challenge imaginable, and a few that nobody could have imagined. These are usually scientists or professionals who may not be spit-and-polish Starfleet, but are highly educated in their specific fields with PHDs or the like, who are either civilian consultants or have enlisted in Starfleet in order to work within the SCE.

  • Science (Primary Manifest)

From sensor readings to figuring out a way to enter the strange spacial anomaly, the science department is responsible for recording data, testing new ideas out, and making discoveries. Aboard Federation Starships, this is the individual responsible for overseeing scientific investigations and for providing the ship's Captain with scientific information needed for command decisions. The science officer's station on the Bridge not only includes extensive tie-ins to the various Sensor systems, but links as well to the ship's library computer system.

The department has some overlap with the medical department in terms of microbiology, xenobiology, and life sciences.
